The Kind of Girl Launch Party

Thanks to all who came out for The Kind of Girl launch party on Sunday!  Thanks to Cafe Aroma for providing a wonderful setting for our event, and thanks especially to Eduardo Santiago for hosting and interviewing.  Thanks also to my wonderful co-readers, Abbie Bosworth and Katherine Factor.

Idyllwild Arts Faculty Concert

On September 13, Idyllwild Arts faculty participated in the annual art opening and performance as a way to welcome students and kick off the school year.

Click to view the Idyllwild Arts faculty concert and enjoy music and dance performances and readings by some of the amazing people I get to work with!  Make sure to check out Katherine Factor’s haunting, beautiful poem about the fire that threatened our town, around minute eight.  My reading of “Muscle Memory” is around the 50 minute mark.

And, since Renee and Natalie recommend pairing The Kind of Girl with the new release by singer/songwriter Neko Case (along with a tempting drink), check out the trailer for her new album (and why not try the drink recommendation, too?).

Next, Click to hear my reading of “Muscle Memory,” from The Kind of Girl on TNBBC’s Audio Series.  And why not have another “American Sweetheart” (drink recipe found at the end of the summerbooks podcast)?
